PKC is an inorganic chemical manufacturer producing alkali and chlorine from sodium chloride, operating primarily in the chemical business (97%) and other businesses (3%). The chemical segment includes CA (chlor-alkali), materials (special gases), and food additives, with the CA business accounting for 71% of sales. After replacing aging equipment in 2022, productivity improved and costs were reduced. The materials segment supplies high-purity special gases to semiconductor and display industries, while the food additives business maintains stable sales due to low demand elasticity.
